Willamette View turns to the ‘Blue Zone Project’ to promote employee wellness

David Kohnstamm, director of wellness for Willamette View, explains that the community has become part of the Blue Zone Project, a movement that stems from an article that appeared in National Geographic about the five areas of the world where people have the longest lifespans – Ikaria, Greece; Sardinia, Italy; Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica; Okinawa, Japan and Loma Linda, California. 
Willamette View, a senior community near Milwaukie, has focused on wellness for residents for years. Its mission statement, "To inspire the art of living well" captures that commitment. It has now expanded that commitment to employees.
The goal is to make the entire community a place where residents and staff have the opportunity to live longer, happier, healthier lives.
