Our Wellness Mission
To support each person to function at the highest level of his or her individual potential.

W
ellness is far more than simply health and fitness. At Willamette
View, we embrace a six-dimensional concept of wellness to meet the physical,
emotional, spiritual, vocational, social and intellectual needs of residents.
Our Wellness Center programs and services are designed to address each aspect of the individual:
Physical — Fitness classes, walking groups, dancing, health and fitness screenings, aquatics, nutrition, medication management, safety and overall health.
Emotional — Support groups, staff encouragement, socialization, mental health referrals, perspective and humor, stress management.
Spiritual — Pastoral programs, support groups, meditation and relaxation
classes, purpose, values, morals, hope, religion, connection with nature.
Intellectual — Classes and seminars, memory improvement activities, encouraging lifelong learning, using the mind, creative thinking, expanding horizons.
Social — Classes, events and parties, contests, friends, respect for self and others, interaction with people of all ages.
Vocational — Meaningful activities for each person, volunteerism on campus and in the greater community, helping neighbors, charity events, personal missions and goals, using and learning skills for the job of living.
All of these components are interrelated and, taken together, promote
whole-person wellness. Studies show that people age successfully by incorporating
wellness concepts and beliefs into all aspects of their lives. What’s
more, wellness initiatives benefit not just the individual but also family,
friends and Willamette View staff.
In fact, Willamette View embraces the philosophy of wellness throughout our organization, enabling a happy and healthy community.
